Gov. Mike Huckabee Sends Message to Oklahoma Supporters

Huck PAC Newsletter

I am traveling today but I wanted to share with you some important information regarding three phone bank parties in Oklahoma this weekend. This Saturday Huck PAC is organizing phone banks across the nation in an effort to help Bob McDonnell's campaign for Governor in Virginia.

Virginia is holding it's elections this November and between now and then, Huck PAC is determined to identify as many Bob McDonnell supporters as possible and then help turn them out to vote in November. I hope you will participate this Saturday as part of our kickoff. You can find the information you need to attend below.

With gratitude,

Mike Huckabee

Muskogee County GOP Convention and Precinct Meetings

http://www.meetup.com/mikehuckabee-66/calendar/9838094/
Mar 7
Sat 9:00 AM
Location
Muskogee Public Library
801 W Okmulgee StMuskogee, OK 74401Change Place

The 2009 Muskogee County Republican Convention will take place on Saturday, March 7th. The Convention will be held in the Grant Foreman meeting room of the Muskogee Public Library, located at 801 W. Okmulgee St. in Muskogee, beginning as soon as the precinct meetings end (approx. 10:15am).

At the County Convention, delegates are selected to attend the State Convention in Oklahoma City on April 18th. Only registered Republicans can vote in the County Convention; however, the public is welcome to attend.

This year's county and state conventions are crucial, as we will be voting on the State Chairman and Vice-Chairman at the State Convention in April, and setting the course for the 2010 election cycle (which includes the Governor's race). As registered Republicans, please try to attend these events. Keeping our Party conservative requires grassroots involvement.

HuckPAC Oklahoma UPDATE: from State Organizer, Mike Ford

HuckPAC OK Update: 2/5/09

1. HuckPAC House Party 2/26/09
2. Fundraisers Conference Call
3. Join the HuckPAC 2009 Republican Delegates

Attention all HuckPAC Oklahoma Volunteers,

HuckPAC House Party 2/26/09

Make plans to attend a HuckPAC House Party on the 26th! See details from Governor Huckabee at the link below, then contact me (mikef (at)huckpacvolunteer.com) if you are interested in hosting a HuckPAC House Party in the Tulsa, OKC, Bartlesville or Muskogee areas on February 26th. We need hosts!
http://www.huckpac.com/?FuseAction=Blogs.View&Blog_id=2107

This will be an excellent time to launch our first meetings in an informal and social atmosphere, where we can meet each other and hang out. The state coordinator in your area can address the group with HuckPAC announcements regarding some upcoming plans, events and developments. There's lots of cool stuff on the way!

Fundraisers Conference Call

If you responded to the National HuckPAC Volunteer Team as a Fund Raiser, please contact me (mikef@huckpacvolunteer.com) with some potential dates and times (the second or third week of February) that you can be available for a conference call to discuss and organize our Oklahoma fundraising campaign.

I would like to hear your ideas and form a group strategy. I was thinking maybe a Monday or Tuesday night after dinner time when all of our households are winding down???

Join the HuckPAC 2009 Republican Delegates
(Let's make an impact on this year's conventions!)

The 2009 County and State Republican Conventions are almost upon us. It is vital that all of us join the Delegation in our respective Counties and participate in our Party process.

Together as a voting block, we can influence the elections of our new Party leadership and assist with the preservation and enhancement of the conservative OKGOP Platform (where we can suggest and discuss issues like the Human Life Amendment, the Fair Tax, Homeschooling, Education and Gun Rights).

Please go to our state Meetup site at
http://www.meetup.com/mikehuckabee-66/messages/boards/
and post the date and time of your GOP County Convention so others can find the info.

Ask your County Chairman if you can submit these planks to be considered for our Platform:

The FairTax Act (HR 25, S 1025)
http://www.fairtax.org/site/PageServer?pagename=about_main
The Human Life Amendment ( Sometimes referred to as a Personhood Amendment )
http://www.humanlifeamendment.info/

If you do NOT live in Tulsa County:
Contact your County Chairman, or call the OKGOP headquarters in OKC if you need more info. Contact Jay Mandraccia | 405/528-3501 | jay (at) okgop.com . Tell them you want to become a delegate if you have not already and missed your Precinct Meeting last week due to the ice storm or other complications.

If you DO live in Tulsa County:
If you have not already, please take 2 minutes and go to http://www.tulsagop.org/ to register. The deadline to register is FRIDAY, FEBRUARY 6th! Then, I challenge you to do 2 things:

1. Send this invitation to EVERY Republican you know, especially those who have felt like the Party has left them behind and no longer stands for their values. If they do not respond and become a voting delegate, they will have only themselves to blame. We will be stuck with the platform and leadership elected by delegates who register, show up to the convention and vote, for the next 2 years.

2. If you have an idea or a policy you would like the Party to stand on in our Republican Platform, send it in. This is how solutions are entered into the political arena. If you want to see the Fair Tax, The Human Life Amendment, or other great conservative ideas become GOP approved, it starts with YOU! Email them to chairman (at) tulsaGOP.org .

What: Become a Republican Delegate !!!

When: By THIS FRIDAY, February 6, 2009

Where: http://www.tulsagop.org/

Here is some info from our Tulsa County Republican Chairman:

Dear Republicans,

I wanted to update you on a few things.
I have received several emails about the precinct meetings and wanted to make certain that everything was very clear.

We suggest that since we sit in precincts at the county convention that you elect these at the convention. Electing officers is not a lenghty process and we suggest that you arrive at the convention a few minutes early for you to do so. We will supply forms at the convention for you to fill out and turn in.

There may be some precincts that have already met or are meeting this week or next. If you have signed up online and are in one of these precincts we ask that you contact your precinct chairman so that they know that you are wanting to be a delegate but could not make the meeting due to the weather. You can get the contact information for a precinct chairman as a drop box to the “Officials” tab. If you see no precinct chairman listed then we would love to sign you up as a precinct officer.

Also, if you have no precinct meeting and you would like to sign up for the rules committee, platform committee, or credentials committee, feel free to send me at chairman (at) tulsaGOP.org and I will forward that onto the committee chairmen. Just a reminder that you can only sit on one committee. Also, please remember that several committees have many people sign up and not everyone is chosen. Please email me by February 6 so that we have time to process everyone.

Finally, if you have a platform plank that you would like to submit and did not have a precinct meeting, please send and email to chairman (at) tulsaGOP.org. Those planks must be into me by February 6.

If you have any further questions, please feel free to contact us at 627-5702.
Thank you!
Joy Mohorovicic, Chairman

Just a Reminder:

Note: If your precinct does not have a Chairman, your meeting will be held at the Tulsa County GOP HQ on February 3rd, from 7 - 8pm.

Attention Tulsa County Republicans:

The 2009 Tulsa County GOP Convention will be held February 21.
Please contact your Precinct Chairman for more information regarding location and time.

Huck PAC National Volunteer Team

The following is a recent e-mail sent out by Huck PAC Oklahoma (unofficial grassroots) Meetup Organizer, Mike Ford. OKforHuckabee has heard from a source that the National Volunteer Team (NVT) has actually already grown to over 1,600 members. If you have not already signed up for this, PLEASE DO SO NOW! Thank You!

Dear HuckPAC volunteers,

Thanks to all of you who have responded to Mike Huckabee's call on January 1st to become HuckPAC volunteer group leaders. We are pleased to announce that by January 4th, the HuckPACvolunteer project response exceeded all expectations with 1,144 volunteers (our goal was 500 by Jan. 15). 614 people have indicated they are willing to signup as a Group Leader and 369 people have said they will raise money!

The goal for each state is to have at least one group leader operating within each county. We are currently loading all volunteer data into our files county by county.

I have been asked to request a brief (2 paragraphs) introduction telling HuckPAC a little about yourself. Who you are, why you believe in HuckPAC and your reason for stepping up to join our leadership team.

These can be sent back to me as a reply to this email. In addition to your introduction, please include any former political or campaign experience, leadership experience, skills and resources that will be helpful in organizing our Oklahoma leadership team.

Please also tell me what county you reside in and if you are willing to be a temporary leader in a nearby county that does not have a leader until we can fill it. Areas like Tulsa and Oklahoma County will likely have several leaders, so we can work as a team to be creative with ways to service other counties until they are filled.

The information is coming fast and we are thumbing through a lot of it, so please be patient as we get our databases organized. We will be introducing our initial action steps soon. Once we become active, it will be easier to recruit volunteers. Most people don't want to join a team that is doing nothing.

Here are some upcoming activities we will be planning:

Our first meetings will be held in February. I would like to see a meeting scheduled in each of our 4 major cities (Tulsa, OKC, Bartlesville and Muskogee) for all local HuckPAC volunteers to attend on a monthly basis. Our leadership team can have conference calls monthly and meet in person quarterly in various locations around the state. Of course, during elections, these meetings will become weekly.

The Republican Precinct Caucuses will be held in most counties on January 27th. It is very important that we get as many HuckPAC supporters and conservatives to their local precinct meetings. This is the beginning of the delegate process for the 2009 OKGOP conventions, where those who became delegates at the precinct caucuses will vote in our new County and State leaders, and be involved in other important matters. Unlike in the past, it is highly unlikely that anyone will be seated as a delegate who does not attend these meetings this year. Please note that 2008 delegates must attend as well, or they will not remain delegates in 2009!!! If you are unsure where your precinct meeting is, please call your County Chairman. If your precinct does not have a chairman, consider stepping up and becoming the precinct chairman in your area. I can help you with this.

I am speaking with some people around the state regarding a Human Life Amendment for the Oklahoma State Constitution. It is very likely that we could have one passed through our now Republican state congress, and also may be filing a petition to add a ballot initiative to one of the upcoming elections. The passage of the Human Life Amendment in Oklahoma would recognize unborn children as American citizens with full Constitutional rights under the 14th Amendment, rendering abortion unconstitutional.

We will also plan Fair Tax rallies for April 15th.

One of the things we are developing at HuckPAC is an online community similar to HucksArmy.com and Meetup.com. HucksArmy and Meetup members are encouraged to continue with their current formats if they would like to. However, once the new group formats are completed, I think we will find that it will enhance our internet base and eventually replace them both. Until then, I think we should continue to stay active on HucksArmy and the Oklahoma HuckPAC meetup group to generate web hits and stay in communication with others to build our team socially. If you are not currently a member of HuckPAC Oklahoma Meetup, please join if you would like.
Go to http://www.meetup.com/mikehuckabee-66/ .

Please send the link www.Huckpacvolunteer.com to your personal networks and encourage friends and family to participate. I honestly think we can grow HuckPAC Volunteer Team to 2,000 nationwide by the 15th, if we have not already. I'll keep you updated as I hear the progress reports.

Thanks for the response. I look forward to working with each of you.

Sincerely,

Mike Ford

Melanie Grayson of Muskogee, OK: McCain's Political Strategy, with Regard to the Financial Crisis. New ad for McCain...starring Bill Clinton

This info posted with much thanks to Mrs. Grayson for permitting us to take a peak at what she is up to. She and her husband, William, are grassroots supporters, who played many integral roles in helping Gov. Huckabee to win the 2nd Congressional District of Oklahoma.

I am not a professional campaign adviser, but things aren't looking so good for the McCain camp right now. I am fed up with John McCain allowing Obama to take a free ride on our current financial crisis.

It is not exploiting the situation to let people know the part the Democrats, and specifically Obama, have played in the financial mess we are in.

I think he needs to roll the dice and take a chance on being accused of exploitation. What does he have to lose at this point? He's already headed for losing the election if he doesn't grab the bull by the horns.

Below is the email I sent and the response I received from the McCain campaign this morning. If you think he should stop holding back, I urge you to contact the campaign and let them know.

Subject: Maverick, Let's Roll

I am impatiently waiting for John McCain to act on the financial crisis in his campaign. It has been politicized, it is political and and he needs to give it to Obama with both barrels. I watched in disgust on Sunday night as Nancy Pelosi raged against Bush Administration and all Republicans, including John McCain, while flanked by two people with a huge responsibility for this mess, Frank and Dodd. How could Dodd or Frank even have the audacity to speak, with the role they have played in this mess? McCain needs to be pointing out Dodd's role as chairman on the Senate Banking Committee and Franks's role as chairman of the House Financial Services Committee. What about the monies Dodd and Obama have received from Fannie and Freddie and Countrywide and probably many other corrupt lenders? Let's give some background on ACORN and their agenda and the Democrats relationship to that terrorist organization and the connection to what's going on now. Let's talk about how Obama trained ACORN activists in corrupt Chicago. This is no time for Mr Nice Guy; he's got to let them have it or he is going to LOSE, BIG TIME!

Respectfully,

Melanie Grayson

And, here is the latest from the McCain camp: Bill Clinton will be starring in the next McCain commercial...
http://politicalticker.blogs.cnn.com/
Bill Clinton the star of new McCain ad
Posted: 01:40 PM ET

From CNN Ticker Producer Alexander Mooney
The McCain campaign is highlighting a recent Clinton interview in a new ad.
(CNN) — As he gears up to hit the campaign trail on behalf of Barack Obama later this week, former President Bill Clinton is the star of a new television ad — for John McCain.

Watch: New McCain ad features Bill Clinton

The Arizona senator's campaign is highlighting Clinton's remarks in an interview with ABC News last week during which he appeared to lay some of the blame of the current economic crisis on congressional Democrats.

"I think the responsibility that the Democrats have may rest more in resisting any efforts by Republicans in the Congress or by me when I was president to put some standards and tighten up a little on Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac," Clinton said in the ABC News interview that is highlighted in the new McCain ad.

The announcer of the one-minute spot called "Rein" cites McCain's call for more regulation of Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac two years ago and said "Democrats blocked the reforms."

"Loans soared. Then, the bubble burst. And, taxpayers are on the hook for billions. Bill Clinton knows who is responsible," the announcer also says.

But in the same interview with ABC, Clinton also said it is important not to assign blame at this time for the current state of the economy: "We are where we are. I think the most important thing is we got two candidates for president saying 'lets try to minimize the partisan differences,'" he said. "We will have plenty of time later to look at who caused this and what mistakes were made."

Those comments did not make it into the McCain ad.

The ad comes days after some Democrats grumbled the former president appeared to be overly praiseworthy of the Arizona senator as the final stretch of the heated presidential campaign gets under way. In the same interview with ABC News, Clinton defended McCain's call to possibly push back the first debate, saying it was a pledge made in "good faith." He also later said the Arizona senator had taken the lead in his party when it comes to climate change.

The commercial is called, "Rein":

Christmas Parade in Muskogee

Our 1,000th Visitor dropped by today! Wow!

I'm passing along some info from the Tulsa Mike Huckabee for President 2008 Meetup Group:

What: Christmas Parade in Muskogee
When: Saturday, December 1, 5:30 PM
Where: Downtown Muskogee

Event Description: A group of Huckabee supporters are gathering for the Christmas Parade in Downtown Muskogee. The parade begins at 5:30pm, Saturday, December 1st. We will try to have t-shirts and signs (whatever else) for Huckabee with us. It would be a great idea to print up leaflets, or something, that we could pass out, to direct people to the site. The parade starts at 5:30pm. Further details to some (especially, where to meet at). If anyone was able to make a purchase of signs, I know where we can get some locally, 100 for $350.00. Of course, the downside is that whoever does it needs to sell the signs to the rest of us for $3.50/each to recoup their money. If you hear of a better deal somewhere, please tell us. I'll also talk to my connection and see if there is any way to get a smaller number of signs for a minimum order. If we're lucky, maybe we could get some of the signs and/or t-shirts to show up on the local news cameras. You can pick up your t-shirts from M. J. Grayson while you're there.

Learn more here: http://mikehuckabee.meetup.com/66/calendar/6756384

If you can show up, that would be great! It would be wonderful to have a bunch of Huckabee supporters there.

Update: Lots of photos of this event at the link above!
